Writing test and conclusion
Here is the sound recording of this board.
Shot with an iPhone 15 PRO Max, to the left of the keyboard at a distance of approximately 12 cm. Room size: 14.5 sq m. 2.5 cm thick wooden tabletop. A 4 mm thick desk pad was used.
I like the overall sound very much, only the spacebar is not quite optimal for my taste, even if the board can easily be forgiven for this. I couldn’t detect any rattling or other disturbing noises. Overall, the sound is clean and clear, although it is not one of the quieter ones, which is by no means a disadvantage.
The bottom line
The Block keyboard presents itself as a well-thought-out overall package that takes a clear direction both visually and functionally. Its classic look, which is reminiscent of traditional input devices and older Apple design lines, creates a mixture of nostalgia and modern suitability for everyday use. The subtle color scheme, the clear shapes and the two rotary controls give the board a unique appearance that stands out from many current gaming or office keyboards. It is precisely this stylistic feature that makes the Block a device that radiates visual calm and at the same time has an unmistakable character.

The keyboard also impresses in terms of typing feel with its linear full POM switches, which enable clean and even typing behavior. The sound is more present and slightly louder, which fits in well with the retro approach and gives the board an acoustic note that is consciously perceived. There are no rattles or annoying background noises, which speaks for a solid technical basis overall. The Spacebar is a little out of line tonally, but remains perfectly acceptable and is not distracting in everyday use. Anyone who likes mechanical keyboards that are allowed to work audibly will appreciate this acoustic profile.
The workmanship makes a decent impression. The frame, keycaps and internal damping layers result in a robust construction that is reliable in everyday use. At the same time, the keyboard offers modern connection options via USB-C, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz, which makes it flexible for use with different devices and working environments. Although there is no comprehensive software for free programming, the board works reliably without additional tools so that all important functions can be used directly via the keyboard.
With a price of around 169 US dollars, the Block Keyboard is in a range that I personally find a little high. Nevertheless, the amount seems reasonable in relation to the delivered concept. The board is aimed at users who value looks, a distinctive sound and a classic layout. Those looking for a quiet, highly customizable or software-heavy keyboard are less likely to find what they are looking for here. However, if you want a deliberately designed, slightly louder-sounding board with retro charm and are willing to invest the price, the Block is a recommendable and coherent product that fits in well both on the desk and in daily work processes.
