The following list contains what I consider to be the most important functions of a NAS. I take a detailed look at whether these functions are available and, if so, how they have been implemented. If you think something is missing here, please feel free to send me your comments in the forum.
App
QNAP offers a whole range of apps for Android and iOS, which can be installed individually as required. An overview can be found here.

Applications
The AppCenter on the NAS itself is also filled with various installable extensions, an overview is also available here before purchase.

Virtualization / Docker
QNAP actually has a corresponding application, Virtualization Station, but this is not available for devices with ARM processors. This function is therefore not available for this model.
However, Container Station can be installed, so we have full support for Docker containers. Here, for example, I show the installation of OpenSpeedTest.
Backup from the computer
This feature is actually also available from QNAP and they also offer detailed instructions, but again this does not apply to devices with ARM CPU, for which there is no real native solution from the NAS. In principle, however, any other tool installed locally on the end device that can simply securely access a network share set up on the NAS will work. However, services such as Duplicacy or Qsync Central are available for backing up individual folders.
Picture gallery
QuMagie is a comprehensive tool for image management, which can be supplemented by the additional QNAP AI Core tool for functions such as image recognition.
The presentation and range of functions is good and corresponds to the current status of the various other services with this purpose.
With the extension by AI Core, the recognition and collective display of faces also works very well.
