ASUS has unveiled two new 27-inch monitors with OLED tandem technology. Clear the stage for the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. These are two models that should make gaming hearts beat faster.

First of all, the question arises: What does Tandem actually mean? According to ASUS, tandem technology offers several advantages compared to previous-generation WOLED panels. Namely a 15 percent higher peak brightness, a 25 percent larger color volume and an up to 60 percent longer service life of the OLED layers.
A look at the technical data shows that the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W has a lot to offer. The monitor achieves a refresh rate of 540 Hz at QHD resolution or even 720 Hz at 720p, but only at this lower resolution. The response time is 0.2 milliseconds. Thanks to the new TrueBlack technology and the glossy coating, particularly sharp images and deep blacks should be possible in any environment. A Neo proximity sensor from the OLED Care Pro Suite is also integrated, which automatically detects whether a person is nearby. If the user moves away, a black image is displayed to prevent burn-in effects. As soon as the user returns, the image is reactivated. Detection can be set up to a distance of 1.2 meters. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certified, covers 99.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, supports 10-bit color depth and offers a color accuracy of Delta E < 2. 1x DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20) with 80 Gbit/s bandwidth and 2x HDMI 2.1 are available as connections. There are also 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and a headphone jack. The price is around 1,099 US dollars.
The second model ASUS is launching is the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. This monitor offers a refresh rate of 280 Hz and a response time of 0.03 milliseconds. The stand has been reduced by 30 percent compared to previous 27-inch ROG XG models to create more space on the desk. VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black, 99.5 percent DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit color depth and Delta E < 2 are also provided here. Like the larger model, the XG27AQWMG also has a Neo proximity sensor, which measures the user’s distance using wavelength detection and switches the screen off when absent to prevent burn-in. ASUS also relies on 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A as well as a headphone jack for the connections. A tripod socket is also integrated. The price is around 599 US dollars and is therefore aimed more at users with a smaller budget.
