Summary
The ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCDM is a 27-inch 4K QD OLED monitor with excellent picture quality, very fast response times (0.1 ms) and low latency (E2E 6.4 ms), making it ideal for gaming. Thanks to DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR 20 and HDMI 2.1, it offers extensive connection options including a KVM switch. The workmanship is high quality and the ergonomics are complete. As delivered, the panel shows typical QD OLED oversaturation, but with solid factory calibration for sRGB and DCI-P3 (Delta E <2). After manual calibration, the monitor achieves a very high color accuracy (Delta E <1), which also qualifies it for color-critical work in the Adobe RGB color space.
HDR content is displayed with up to 1000 nits, even if the modes may have certain weaknesses such as panel dimming or loss of detail in dark scenes. The picture homogeneity is excellent and power consumption averages 50-60 watts. Firmware problems – in relation to the Color Space DCI-P3 in conjunction with a poorly set white point – still exist and require improvement by ASUS.
A comparison of the measurement results with HardwareDealz shows almost identical results, which confirms the reliability of the test results.
Overall, the PG27UCDM offers strong performance in almost all areas and is a successful, compact brother of the PG32UCDM.
Conclusion
In view of the current price of 1,148 euros, you have to sit down first. Nevertheless, the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCDM offers a convincing overall package for demanding users. If you are prepared to invest in the latest QD OLED technology, the PG27UCDM is one of the best 27-inch monitors on the market.
The monitor was provided to me by ASUS ROG via HardwareDealz without obligation – for testing purposes. There was no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish by ASUS or anyone else.
