Processing and mobility
The EV3450XC is very well made, the materials have been chosen appropriately and the design is unobtrusive. When you also consider that the EV3450XC is made from 80 percent recycled material, this speaks volumes in terms of sustainability. The panel is matt and anti-glare, as you would expect from an office monitor. In terms of ergonomics, the EV3450XC offers height adjustment, swivel and tilt. Alternative VESA mounting is also possible.
The small radius of the curved panel makes it look almost “flat”, so that you basically don’t have any problems with a distorted display of Excel spreadsheets or other applications. I really like that and I assume that customers will appreciate it too.
Connectors, cables and accessories
If you need to work with multiple devices at home or in the office, the EV3450XC is a base station that comes with an abundance of connections. In addition to the mains connection (internal power supply), there is: 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, 1x USB-C with DP Alt Mode, 1x USB-B upstream, 2x USB-A and 1x USB-C downstream as well as 1x 3.5 mm jack. You also get an RJ-45 LAN port, a webcam with 5 megapixels (autofocus and 30 FPS), an integrated microphone and built-in speakers.
The whole thing is garnished with a KVM switch so that you can set yourself up at home. Admiral of the room fleet in the home office! EIZO also supplies the appropriate cables: 1x DisplayPort, 1x USB-C, 1x USB Type-B to Type-A and the power cable. A cover can be attached to the rear for those who want to package the connections well visually.
OSD
The OSD menu is clearly laid out and is very easy to navigate using the touch panel on the front. There are two user settings that you can adjust or calibrate as you wish. There are also presets: sRGB, Movie, DICOM and Paper (reading mode for dark rooms). You will also find the settings for the pixel overdrive and, of course, a dedicated ECO mode. EIZO attaches great importance to longevity and this also includes the issue of power consumption.
This is why the ambient light sensor (out of the box) is activated. This gave me quite a fright as the picture was very dark. However, you can switch off the ECO mode and the sensor in the OSD. If you want, you can also download an app from the EIZO homepage: EZIO InStyle. This allows you to control various functions at the click of a mouse (see linked data sheet).
