HDR performance
Yes, the ASRock PG27FFX2A is also advertised with HDR, although this monitor lacks any dimming hardware. Just because you can count to three doesn’t make you a mathematician. It’s the same with HDR, just because you can receive an HDR 10 signal doesn’t make you an HDR monitor.
No dimming means no HDR contrast – the built-in IPS panel only manages 1500:1 and if you put the monitor next to an OLED, you would think: Is the PG27FFX2A broken? Brightness also stops at 450 nits. No matter how you look at it, the PG27FFX2A doesn’t offer true HDR. That’s the way it is and that’s the way it stays – it rubs in tight pants!
