HDR performance
Anyone who knows me will probably know what I think of monitors that are advertised with HDR but don’t have any HDR hardware. I keep my distance from them! The P2710S can receive and display an HDR signal, but what you see has nothing to do with HDR. The P2710S has no built-in dimming, so it can’t deliver the required contrast. You can also see in the Gray Scale Tracking that the EOTF does not start at zero, but only at 0.1. This already shows that the panel is not capable of black.
It also looks manageable in terms of brightness.
The color accuracy is okay, but that doesn’t mean that the P2710S is an HDR monitor.
If you want to use the P2710S with HDR, the first step is to set HDR to Auto in the OSD under Game, as HDR is deactivated out of the box in the OSD. I had to mention that at this point. My final sentence on the subject of HDR with the P2710S: This monitor cannot display true HDR, so you shouldn’t buy this monitor for HDR purposes.
