Summary
The ASUS ProArt PA27JCV is an excellent monitor designed especially for creative professionals and designers. With a 27-inch 5K display, it offers outstanding image quality and high color accuracy, making it ideal for precise image editing, photography and video production.
The PA27JCV also impresses with its outstanding brightness (SDR) and, thanks to dynamic dimming, also with good contrast values (SDR), which enable a detailed display even in different lighting conditions. It also offers hardware calibration, which ensures consistent color accuracy over longer periods of time. The ergonomic adjustment options, such as height adjustment, tilt and swivel, contribute to flexible use and a high level of comfort.
With a variety of connectivity options, including USB-C with power, HDMI and DisplayPort as well as a KVM switch, the ASUS ProArt PA27JCV is also extremely versatile and offers seamless integration into different work environments. The integrated speakers are another practical feature that makes the monitor an all-round solution for professional applications. Overall, the ASUS ProArt PA27JCV is an excellent choice for creative professionals who require the highest image quality – especially very high image sharpness – and accurate color reproduction.
Conclusion
The ASUS ProArt PA27JCV has basically no weaknesses, if we disregard the issue of the locked sRGB mode. In SDR, the PA27JCV is a real bank when it comes to color accuracy and leaves little to be desired. Personally, I’m not really convinced when it comes to HDR. Yes, it does work and very accurately in terms of color, but it is very limited in terms of maximum brightness, black levels and contrast.
That brings us back to the RRP of 950 euros and how do you justify it? Yes, the built-in panel with its high resolution and extreme pixel density is nothing off the shelf. It definitely costs more than a standard panel with UHD resolution. Nevertheless, at this price I expect a mini-LED IPS panel with FALD and not an outdated edge-lit dimming with only 16 zones.
I can therefore only recommend the monitor to a limited extent at this price. If you want to spend this much money, you’re buying a very good monitor for image and video editing – there’s no question about that. At Geizhals you can currently find the PA27JCV for 899 euros, which is still far too expensive. The monitor becomes interesting from a price of less than 800 euros, so I can give the PA27JCV a purchase recommendation with a clear conscience.
The monitor was provided to me by ASUS without obligation – for testing purposes. There was no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish by ASUS or anyone else.
