Good news for all Hatsune Miku fans, as ASUS has unveiled a new graphics card inspired by the popular virtual J-Pop idol Hatsune Miku. In addition to this graphics card, other components with the idol’s style have also been announced.
The special edition is based on the current RTX 5080 and comes in an eye-catching design with a Hatsune Miku motif on the back. The graphics card has 16 GB GDDR7 memory, a 256-bit interface, a bandwidth of 30 Gbps, 10,752 CUDA cores and a computing power of 1,899 TOPs. In addition, 4 axial fans are installed to ensure the best possible cooling.
For all those who are not familiar with the name Hatsune Miku: It is a virtual idol that was created in 2007 by the Japanese music label Crypton Future Media. Since then, the character has become a global pop culture phenomenon that has not only spawned numerous songs, but also inspired anime series, merchandise and a large fan community worldwide. Hatsune Miku is depicted as a 16-year-old girl with long, turquoise-colored pigtails, so-called twintails and a school-like uniform.
However, ASUS is not only launching the graphics card on the market, but has also announced other PC components in the matching design. These include the ROG STRIX X870E-GAMING WIFI7 Hatsune Miku Edition motherboard, the ROG RYUO IV 360 ARGB AIO water cooling system, the ROG Strix XG27ACMEG-G monitor, the ROG Strix Helios II case and the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III power supply, all of which are also designed in the Miku style. This makes it possible to put together a fully coordinated setup that not only delivers performance, but is also a real eye-catcher.
It is not yet known whether the products will be available worldwide or only in selected regions. The price of the graphics card in China is expected to be 16,999 RMB, which is the equivalent of around 2,027.49 euros, which is of course a hefty sum. Whether this will deter one or two fans remains to be seen in the future.
