ASUS presents its first new X870 Gaming Wifi7 motherboard with new product family

The AM5 socket is now firmly established on the market and has become even more important since the release of the Ryzen 9000 series. Accordingly, there are already a large number of motherboards that support this socket. Asus has also already released several models with an AM5 socket and is now introducing another model: the X870 Gaming Wifi7 motherboard. It is part of a new product line within the Asus portfolio and will bear the name “MAX”. This could be quite interesting for some customers.

Asus traditionally offers different motherboard series. The Prime series is aimed more at entry-level users, while the TUF series is in the mid-range segment. The ROG series represents the company’s high-end portfolio. The new MAX series, which also includes the X870 Gaming Wifi7, has now joined the ranks. The MAX variant is positioned roughly lower down from the TUF series, but is better overall than the prime mainboards from Asus. The mainboard is available in two color variants. It is available either completely in black or completely in white, with all components color-coordinated accordingly.

Technically, the mainboard has a lot to offer. It has four DDR5 DIMM slots with a speed of up to 8000 MT/s as well as several PCIe x16 slots. Three M.2 slots and four SATA ports are available for the memory connection. One of the M.2 slots supports transfer rates of up to 128 Gbit/s, while two others provide up to 64 Gbit/s via PCIe 4.0. As the name of the model suggests, Wifi7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are also on board. There are also several ports: Two USB4 ports with 40 Gbit/s, one USB 2.3 Gen2 port with 10 Gbit/s, three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports with 5 Gbit/s and four USB 2.0 ports offer a wide range of options for external devices.

Asus has not yet announced an official price, but it can be assumed that the motherboard will cost over 200 US dollars. A release date has also not yet been communicated and it remains to be seen when it will go on sale.

Also rein optisch gefällt mir das Schwarze schon mal sehr. Schlicht und elegant, ohne jegliches Bling-Bling.
