The FSP VITA GM 1000W is an ATX power supply with compact dimensions, platinum certification and compatible with the ATX v3.1 specification. It is supplied with a 600W-capable 12V-2×6 connector so that it can fully support powerful and energy-hungry GPUs. The price has now fallen sharply, making it much more interesting than it was when it was released in 2024. It’s certainly not the cheapest 1000-watt power supply on the market, but it’s interesting when it comes to the price/performance ratio.
Reason enough for me to once again let my friend Aris from Hardwarebusters have his say (and picture) on this on our site, because he has not only tested this power supply intensively, but has also officially certified it through his company Cybenetics. As it will certainly be of interest to you, I am happy to offer him the platform to share his findings with you here on a case-by-case basis. And don’t forget, his website and YouTube channel also offer real gems in the form of really well-founded reviews! The power supply tested today is of course also included in his article on the best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x power supplies.
The FSP-VITA-GM series consists of four models with outputs from 650W to 1000W. Thanks to the depth of 140 mm, they all have extremely compact dimensions and rely on a fully modular cable design. They also comply with the ATX v3.1 specification, thanks to the 12V 2×6 connector on the modular panels. I’ve tested the entire VITA range so far, but today I’m only bringing you top of the range models with 1000W maximum output. These power supplies have reasonably reasonable MSRP prices, but the current street prices are really good.

There is no semi-passive fan operation, which is fine with me as long as the fan is not running at high speeds under light load. If the fan speed is PWM controlled, there is no need for semi-passive operation, which puts additional stress on the PSU’s components. A fan running at low speed will not be noticed anyway and at the same time provides sufficient airflow to keep the PSU cool at low load, where the thermal load is reduced anyway.
