GEEKOM A9 Mega: AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 in mini PC format, high standards, little scope

The GEEKOM A9 Mega is a compact desktop PC in a mini PC form factor based on the latest AMD Ryzen AI Max platform. According to the manufacturer, the system is aimed at professional application scenarios where high computing power, integrated graphics performance and local AI acceleration are required in a space-saving housing.

The housing measures 171 × 171 × 70.9 millimeters and thus remains within the classic mini PC category. Despite its compact dimensions, the system is equipped with a powerful APU with a thermal power dissipation of 120 watts TDP. The PDF does not contain any information on the internal cooling design or the continuous load capacity.

Processor and computing platform

The AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 is used in the A9 Mega. The processor has 16 CPU cores and 32 threads and, according to the manufacturer, achieves a maximum clock frequency of up to 5.1 GHz. The APU also integrates a dedicated AI acceleration unit with a specified performance of 50 TOPS. This is intended for local AI workloads, inference-based applications and AI-supported software.

Graphics and display output

The main memory is designed as an onboard LPDDR5X-8000 and is permanently soldered. According to the manufacturer, the system supports a maximum memory capacity of up to 128 GB. Mass storage

Two M.2 2280 slots with PCIe Gen4 connection are available for mass storage. The system supports a total capacity of up to 12 TB as well as RAID 0 and RAID 1 configurations.
